Some fantastic news came to us today, and we want to make sure you know too! Some of you may be familiar with Wesa Softball: Since 1975, this softball organization has given LGBTQ2 members a place to enjoy the game, and to feel comfortable doing so with other members of the community. They have also been a driving force in the community, fundraising for charitable causes. We are absolutely thrilled today to let you know that Wesa Softball is donating $2,000 to PFLAG Vancouver. We are a 100% volunteer-driven chapter, and we rely on the donations of others to help us continue to fulfill our mandate: PFLAG Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their non-heterosexual children. With 30+ years in Metro Vancouver, efforts like that of Wesa Softball will help us to continue on for a long time to come. We often say: When you no longer need PFLAG, PFLAG needs you. That has never been more true than over the course of the last year, as we've seen a resurgence of homophobia and transphobia affecting many parts of our community. We will continue to offer peer-to-peer support for those who need it, and we'll continue to stand up to those who spread misinformation about the LGBTQ2 community. Thank you Wesa Softball for really hitting the ball out of the park!
