PFLAG Abbotsford, like PFLAG Vancouver, is a chapter of PFLAG Canada. Our missions are the same, and we in Vancouver are looking forward to helping our partners in the Fraser Valley to become a successful chapter. As someone who went to high school in the Abbotsford area during the early 90s, I can fully attest to the fact that Abbotsford has needed this type of support for a long time. I'm very happy to see it coming to life.
All the best,
President, PFLAG Vancouver
Robert Joseph Greene, The Gay Icon Classics of the World
Piano Lounge, Green College, UBC
February 18th 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Robert Joseph Greene embarked on a journey to find gay love stories from different cultures that were suppressed due to homophobia. Greene thought that his love stories would show the world that the LGBT Community exists in every culture. What he didn’t expect was that his simple love stories would lead to an arrest of an activist for reading “gay propaganda”in front of a children’s library.
Greene has been at the forefront of fighting Russia’s “Anti-Gay Propaganda” laws and answers questions as to why the Olympics is the perfect venue for bringing awareness to injustices from human rights to fairness in sports.
