About the film:
God Loves Uganda is a riveting exposé of the American evangelical movement’s role in Uganda where US missionaries have been credited with creating schools and hospitals that promote religious bigotry.  As the American-influenced bill to make homosexuality punishable by death wins widespread support, tension in Uganda mounts and an atmosphere of murderous hate takes hold.

Reel Causes is a BC-registered non-profit society that works for positive social change through the power of cinema. A model of social innovation and community engagement, Reel Causes provides filmgoers with monthly opportunities to learn about and support the work of local and national charities that address social justice, environmental and health-related issues.
 
The Shanti Uganda Society improves infant and maternal health, provides safe women-centered care and supports the well being of birthing mothers and women living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda. Shanti Uganda runs prenatal education classes, HIV testing and counseling, a Teen Girls Program and a Women’s Income Generating Group. Shanti Uganda Society is a registered Canadian Charity and a registered Ugandan NGO.
 
Rainbow Refugee Committee (RRC) is a Vancouver based community group that supports and advocates with people seeking refugee protection because of persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status. Rainbow Refugee Committee engages in outreach, advocacy and public education on LGBTQ/HIV+ refugee issues. RRC is member-driven and all volunteer.
