Our next public meeting will take place on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 7pm Pacific. Location: Gordon Neighbourhood House, 1019 Broughton Street in Vancouver's West End, (between Comox and Nelson). Special Guest Speaker: We are excited to welcome Lukas Walther as our guest speaker this month! Lukas Walther is a gender diversity specialist based in Western Canada, part of a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare providers dedicated to gender identity issues. Since 1997 he has delivered personalized care, support and advocacy to gender-variant and transgender youth and adults, through groups, 1:1s, and in collaboration with their families, care providers, teachers and employers. He provides customized presentations, materials and supports for a wide range of clinical and social agencies, worksites, institutions and conferences, and is a repeat invited speaker at numerous post-secondary campuses throughout the year. Lukas assisted Vancouver Coastal Health in creating BC’s Transgender Health Program in 2002, serving as its Coordinator until recently moving into private practice. He is a founding director of BC FTM Network (1996) a past president of Trans Alliance Society (2005), and an active member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Parking is very challenging in much of the West End, but particularly in this neighbourhood. Please consider other transportation alternatives, such as TransLink. The #6 Davie stops near Broughton, just a few blocks south of the meeting location. The #5 Robson also stops just a couple of blocks north. Feel free to drop us a line if you plan to join us.
