The Vancouver Frontrunners, Canada's largest club devoting to providing a safe and friendly environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their friends to enjoy running and walking. We run and walk as a group twice a week, every week of year and are one of the largest running and walking clubs in British Columbia.

I would like the entire PFLAG membership to the 8th Annual Vancouver Frontrunners Pride Run & Walk. This year's theme is Be fit, be fun, be yourself!  which embodies our values of a healthy lifestyle while being proud of who you are.  Come join us and kick off Pride Week at this 10 km run / 4 km walk in Stanley Park.  ALL net proceeds will be going to Out in Schools (www.outinschools.com). This is a cause that is very close to us since many of us have suffered from bullying and homophobia in our youth and this our opportunity to give back and make a difference.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 28 @ 9 A.M. from Lumberman's Arch - Register as an individual for $40 or as a team of 5 for $150 ($30/person) at http://vancouverfrontrunners.org/events/2012/priderun.html. There are prizes for the top male and female finishers and for the largest, fastest, and best dressed teams!  Come join Vancouver out and proud MLAs Spencer Chandra Herbert and Mable Elmore, Councillor Tim Stevenson, CBC's Kirk Williams, Mr. Gay Canada 2011 - Rob Goodard and others for the largest Pride Run & Walk ever and fight homophobia and anti-bullying.

Regards,

Jag Bilkhu,
President, Vancouver Frontrunners

Pflag Vancouver acknowledges that our work spans many Territories and Treaty areas and that our meetings are held on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are with us today, to those who have gone before us, and for the youth that inspire us. We recognize the land as an act of Reconciliation, as recommended by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) 94 Calls to Action, and of gratitude to those whose territory we reside on, work on or are visiting.
